Vandalism Reported at Lexington Battle Green Flagpole Following National Mourning Order

Lexington, MA – Authorities in Lexington have opened an investigation after the historic Battle Green flagpole was found vandalized late Saturday morning.

Police were called to the site after a park supervisor discovered that the flag had been altered and raised to full mast. A small note was also affixed to the pole. According to investigators, the message referenced “The Birthplace of Liberty” and included the phrase “Not Mourning Fascists.”

Officials believe the act was carried out in opposition to the order directing flags to be lowered to half-staff following the assassination of political activist Charlie Kirk. The incident took place at one of the most symbolic and historic sites in Massachusetts, adding to the seriousness of the vandalism.

At this time, no suspects have been identified. Lexington Police are urging anyone with information related to the case to come forward.
