Lawrence Police Investigating Fatal Shooting on Essex Street
Lawrence, MA – The Essex County District Attorney’s Office has confirmed that a 27-year-old man was shot and killed early Friday morning in Lawrence, marking the latest act of gun violence to strike the city.
Shortly after 2:00 a.m. on September 13th, Lawrence Police responded to reports of a shooting in the area of 154 Essex Street. When officers arrived, they discovered the victim suffering from fatal injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The case is being treated as an active homicide investigation. Alongside the Lawrence Police Department, multiple agencies are assisting in the effort, including:
The Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit assigned to District Attorney Paul Tucker’s office,
The Massachusetts State Police Crime Scene Services Section, and
The Massachusetts Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
Authorities have not yet released the victim’s identity, pending notification of next of kin.
