Hundreds Gather on Boston Common for Vigil Honoring Slain Political Activist Charlie Kirk

Boston, MA – This evening, hundreds of people gathered on Boston Common to attend a vigil honoring political activist Charlie Kirk, who was assassinated last week. The event drew a large crowd of supporters who came together to pay tribute, while a memorial was also established on the steps of the Massachusetts State House.

The vigil unfolded under a significant security presence. Boston Police and Massachusetts State Police maintained a strong perimeter throughout the area, with MSP Air Wing units providing aerial observation and support. Officers could be seen patrolling both the Common and the surrounding downtown streets as the crowd assembled.

While the gathering remained largely peaceful, a group of counter-protesters also arrived to voice their opposition. Tensions briefly flared, leading to at least two arrests. Authorities have not yet released details on the charges those individuals may face.

The vigil concluded with supporters leaving flowers, candles, and messages at the State House memorial site.
